刚窥探了某人的内心世界。

原来一般人向往的自由;
飞机
饭店
从未到过的地方,
对某人来说是牢笼一样的存在。

其实那些曾经让我无比兴奋的新奇;

真是 great minds think alike!

A Song to Sing

Goodbye four leaf clovers
Hello gone awry
Don't cry the fight ain't over
Unless you let it pass you by

I'm looking for a song to sing
Looking for a friend to borrow
I'm looking for my radio
So I might find a heart to follow
I've never been this longing for your lovin'
I've never been just wearin' down to nothin'
I've never been just looking for a reason
So that maybe you'll be thinkin of me oooh...
You'll been thinking of me

All that I have found in reason
Is reason just to not believe
And all that you are left is treason
Is treason just to let it be

I'm looking for a song to sing
Looking for a friend to borrow
I'm looking for my radio
So I might find a heart to follow
I've never been this longing for your lovin'
I've never been just wearin' down to nothin'
I've never been just lookin' for a reason
So that maybe you'll be thinkin' of

These blue yonder dreams and second hand shoes
You're so far gone that you're left to lose and
It's too late to go home all alone
You're the tar in that old cigar
And the worn out cable on a cable car
And you're too tired to admit you've got to choose

I'm looking for a song to sing
Looking for a friend to borrow
I'm looking for my radio
So I might find a heart to follow
I've never been this longing for your lovin'
I've never been just wearin' down to nothin'
I've never been just looking for a reason
So that maybe you'll be thinkin of me ooh...
You'll been thinking of me

It's a song by Hanson from their album This Time Around.
Brings me heartache every single time I listen to it.

I dunno how they did it, the three of them must have been between the ages 15-20 when they wrote it. But it sounds like some old guy lookin' back on his wretched life and wonderin' what could it have been.

Every word is heart-wrenching.

A large part of the album is pretty upbeat. Their usual sugary pop-rock at the time, which is why this song was even more of a contrast compared to the rest of it.

Trust me.

Taylor's voice isn't flawless. In fact, I think it's heavily flawed. But it's what makes his expression of sad songs even more believable. The way his voice was breaking when singing this song actually broke my heart as well.

I don't even know why I'm writing this.

Lately, well, I've always have it. A wave of nostalgia swept over me and I kept wanting to have a copy of that album in my laptop. I used to have a cassette tape version of it when I was in high school. But I can't put that into my laptop, can I?

So thanks to technology and the generous people who uploaded it online, I was finally able to download it.

It was like the sounds of my youth.

Haha I sound like an old wretch myself, don't I? Okay I know I am not that old but I am not young anymore either.

The longer you live, the more memories you're gonna have.
I finally understand that.

So anyway, nostalgia, to me, is always a sad thing.

People often say "both happy and sad memories".

Truth is, sad and dark feelings often etch themselves onto your heart much deeper than happy ones.

I'm not a pessimistic person. It's just the way things are.

And I'm not even talking about specific memories when I'm listening to this song. It's just a song that makes me sad.

But I like it.
It's one of my favourites in the album.

Now if you'll please excuse me and my melancholy thoughts.

Which Singaporean Blogger Are You?

Congratulations Korsh, you are...

'PoiPoi' Apple Lim of verypoisonouslady.blogspot.com

You look like a stereotypical bimbo outside but its a different story inside. You're a nice, simple, proud and straightforward person who believes what you're doing is right. You don't change people, and you love them for who they are. Your primary goal in life is to be happy, next to being pretty. You have your detractors but you don't let them bring you down. You go out of your way to help others out even before they ask, and for that they love you.

Privacy Issues

Guess what I just discovered yesterday.

I was on Friendster during work hours (yeah shoot me, but you're not qualified to, unless you're my boss) and suddenly had this funny idea. So I went to Yahoo! and searched for what I wanted, VOILA! I got the email add of a certain celebrity (whom, of course would not be convenient for me to mention here).

Get this, the celebrity in question actually had his/her (take a guess, I'm not even gonna disclose the gender of the person here, in case I get involved in privacy issues) email add plastered ALL OVER the Internet! And it's not even the record label's email, it's a PERSONAL one!

I can understand this person probably loves music so much that he/she wants to get as close to the fans as he/she possibly can. Okay, I'll just call this person AA, to save my typing trouble. Anyway, I think AA is only exposing itself (sorry, I address AA as a thing here) to danger.

I had this absurd idea running through my head (I think most of its fans had done this long ago). So I copied/pasted the poor email add into the Friendster search bar and pressed Enter. Was thinking AA couldn't possibly have an account there. But because I was feeling so damn bo liao, I did it anyway. Who has ever heard of a celebrity who dabbles with the horrendous zilch-privacy world of Friendster, right? Even if they do, they probably wouldn't be tracked down so easily.

2 seconds. The search returned me 1 result. The profile pic was still loading. The name was AA's alright. Probably another one of its hardcore fans using that nick, I thought. Okay, the pic finished loading and I saw that it was AA. Doesn't mean anything. I clicked on it and was linked to AA's profile page.

Holy Cow! I almost fell off my chair in the office! Nah, of course the page was set to private mode, all I could see was the name, location and hometown details. But that was enough. This could well be the real thing! But then again, it might be another fan making the whole thing look so mysterious.

Wait, but the email i searched for was AA's alright! So it couldn't be someone else's right? Even more astounding is the fact that my network is indirectly linked to AA! I'm linked to it through 2 other persons. Weird.

So the next thing I did was adding AA as friend. But of course I didn't expect AA to accept my invitation. It would be smart not to cos who knows what might leak out, right?

Anyways, if you are nice enough to go through my Friendster profile and stumble upon my humble blog and is reading this now, I guess you'd know what to do. You really shouldn't disclose your personal email to anyone except close friends. Especially not using it as your Friendster login. There are some extremely twisted freaks out there (like yours truly), you know.

Beware.

Which Malaysian Blogger Am I?

Congratulations Tallibeth, you are...

Joyce the Fairy of xanga.com/kinkybluefairy

If you are a car, your fuel of choice would be unleaded alcohol. You are a major party animal with an unnatural obsession with art, toys and all things fantasy. You think the world is too complicated and you wished it could be as simple as it was when you were 7 years old. You live with it. You work hard, but you don't take for granted the simple things in life that make you happy. Sweet candy, cartoon music, crazy friends, all these and more make you a happy person living in your own little world.

Devious World...

Watched Malaysia Superstar Grand Finale on Saturday. The final result really makes me wonder...Are Malaysians today really that shallow?

The male champion is John an the female champion is Desiree. So during the finale, the two of them are gonna compete against each other for the grand throne of Malaysia Superstar.

And geez, any fool can see that the one who's the real thing, the one who could really carry a tune was Desiree. John's voice was weak, although it was considered good for a guy. But I don't think we should judge them on relative terms in this case. To me, John was just not up to standard.

He won simply because of his fans' votes. That was totally unfair since votes from the public carried 70% of the overall marks while the judges' decision only carried 30%! Anyone can see it was just a way for Magnum and other organizers to rake in millions from gullible Malaysians. Well, they have succeeded.

Wanna know why so many voted for John? Well, here's what I thought:

He was such a crybaby that he cried whenever there was a chance; whether he was happy or sad or someone got kicked out of the bogus competition. Basically, just any time. I think this makes the fans feel that they can really relate to him and that he is just a regular guy after all. It's good, actually, but I just wish he had more talent.

As we all know, girls are more easily involved in voting activities like these. Moreover, they might even think that John was a prince charming anyway. Therefore, he got more votes than Desiree.

Desiree, on the other hand, was cool and composed and was talented to boot. Poor girl, she was so badly misunderstood that most viewers mistook her for being cold and aloof. What the heck, at least she could really sing!

All in all, Desiree's talent will take her far while John would probably fade away to nothing, if you ask me. Cruel thing to say. But I guess John should know the reason that enabled him to gain access to the champion of this contest. Therefore, if he doesn't buckle up and improve, Desiree would overtake him in a flash (she already has).
